COMING SOON!!! Peripheral Vision Arts will host the inaugural Salon 2016 online exhibition. This Salon-style exhibition will showcase the work of emerging and mid-career US artists from all visual art categories, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, video, performance, digital, web, street and graffiti, social practice, public art, new genres, textiles, books, activism, and text or research based practices, provided they may be displayed on or linked to our website. Work will be selected on the basis of merit through our editorial review process and in consultation with a guest curator. A series of dedicated, permanent webpages will be designed to accommodate the exhibition, including a catalog essay by the guest curator. Each participating artist will receive a custom Artist Profile page including an image gallery, biography, statement, embedded video, and links.

Salon 2016 is open to all professional emerging and mid-career artists over the age of 18 living and working in the US. Students enrolled in studio MFA programs ARE encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to artists who do not have the benefit of major gallery representation, major grants, or extensive bibliographies of reviews or catalog essays. Peripheral Vision Arts will select work on the basis of merit to those artists with a proven commitment to their craft through a mastery of technique, innovativeness of concept, educational experience, and/or professional practice, and the degree to which the work invites substantive critical inquiry.
