JUAN ALBERTO NEGRONI

 
 

JUAN ALBERTO NEGRONI is a painter, printmaker, and installation artist, born in Puerto Rico in 1979, who resides in Dallas, TX. Juan possess a BFA from the Puerto Rico School of Fine Arts where he majored in printmaking. He earned an MA in Art History, Education, and Museology from the Caribbean University in Puerto Rico. Juan has held three solo shows in San Juan, PR: The Defect Effect (2005); If it weren’t for my horse (2008); and Not About Beauty (Religion, Politics and other failures).

Juan has participated in multiple group shows, such as Peculiar Pleasures, Milkwood Gallery, Wales, UK 2010; Detroit: A Brooklyn Case Study, SUPERFRONT LA, Los Angeles, CA 2010; Dialectic City, curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates in Laboratorio de Artes Binarias, San Juan (w/ Francis Alys, David Lamelas, among others); Retro, Caguas Museum of Art, Caguas, PR 2013; In Response, curated by Justin H. Long, Audrey Love Gallery at Bakehouse Art Complex, Miami, FL 2014; Muestra Nacional 2015, Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, San Juan, PR 2015; WOCA Triennial, Walter Otero Contemporary Art, San Juan, PR 2015; Art in America, (Curated by Julie Torres) at The Satellite Show, Miami, FL 2015 & Elizabeth Stone Harper Gallery, Harper Center for the Arts, Clinton, SC 2016; and Kinds of Monuments, (w/Christian Boltanski, Luis Camnitzer, Cai-Guo-Qiang, Robert Morrison, Alberto Burri, amongst others), Zattere Cultural Flow Zone, Dorsoduro, Venice, Italy 2016. Juan is represented by Peripheral Vision Gallery.
